Council Rock Youth Lacrosse was established to instruct youth players in the basics of the game of lacrosse, to encourage youth to discover, learn and participate in the lacrosse experience.

Required Equipment:

Boys:   Helmet, shoulder pads, arm pads, gloves, mouth guard, stick, supporter, cup, and cleats

Girls:   Eye Goggles, mouth guard, stick, and cleats

Equipment Vendors:  Dicks Sporting Goods, Sports Authority, Modell’s Sporting Goods, Schuylkill Valley Sports in Newtown PA, and Universal Lacrosse in Doylestown PA


US Lacrosse Player Membership:

All players, coaches, and administrators need to be a member of the US Lacrosse, the governing body of lacrosse.  The annual membership ($25/annually) includes a subscription to US Lacrosse magazine and insurance coverage.  One can become a USL member by registering at  All new players must have an active USL membership before participating in organized practices and games.


Lacrosse Season Overview:

Optional Fall Ball Program at Newtown Elementary School on Saturday afternoons in September and October

  • 7 weeks of skill and Lax IQ development through drills and scrimmage play
  • This is an absolute must for new players who want to get a head start on skill development and game sense before the upcoming spring season
  • Registration period generally begins August 1st and ends early October

  • Program begins first weekend after school starts and ends the third weekend of October


Player Evaluations at an indoor facility in mid January

  • ~1.5 hour session for evaluation of player skill development and Lax IQ progress from last season
  • SMG Sportsplex in Warminster, PA and NAC Sports Center in Newtown, PA have been used previously
  • CRLA will issue e-mail notifications to all parents with dates and times for player evaluations and team assignments


Optional Winter Indoor Training at SMG Sportsplex in late January and February

  • Dates and times slots for 1-hour weekly training will be issued to all coaches and team members
  • Great opportunity for skill development and team building strategies; this will be highly encouraged


Spring Season starts March 1st and ends the first weekend in June

  • Registration period for the Spring Season runs from mid October to December 31st

  • Outdoor practice begins March 1st for all teams; generally 2 days per week and 1 weekend practice
  • Practice schedule is based on field and coach availability
  • Games begin third weekend in March with home games played at Newtown Elementary School on Saturdays or Sundays; Girls play on Saturdays and Boys play on Sat or Sun depending on grade level
  • No games on Easter Weekend or Memorial Day Weekend
  • Girls season ends weekend before Memorial Day Weekend
  • Boys season ends first weekend of June
  • Team specific information will be issued by team parent; club information will be issued by CRLA
